Great question!
We will be updating this post as we test various iPad 2 cases with the new iPad. The main difference is that the new iPad is slightly thicker (0.6mm) which means many cases will fit if they are somewhat elastic material, but many hard cases may be too tight.
The findings will be placed below as we do our own tests and here from others.
Confirmed to fit the new iPad:
- Speck Pixelskin Jelly HD for iPad 2. We tested this ourselves and found it to fit great with the new iPad. Its a little tighter than with the iPad 2 but we were perfectly happy with the fit. Camera position is also not an issue.
- Apple Smart Cover. Confirmed to work. In fact Apple is only selling one version of this cover for both old and new iPads
- Incipio Feather* (Kind of works!) The case fits but the camera hole is slightly meaning this would be a good short term solution to protect your new device while you wait to see what else you might want to get.
